Where is the Maker Experience located?
Who is eligible to participate?

All students entering 8th-12th grade.  We are an independent program that values diversity and strives to create a learning community with students from many different backgrounds. There are no pre-requisites.  You don't need to know calculus or how to code.  You just need to be a passionate problem solver.  We'll teach you everything you need to know.  Come ready to get your hands dirty!

How many students are in the program?

Space in the program is limited to 20 students.  We encourage each of our young inventors to follow their own unique passions so no two projects are alike.  To support this type of diverse thinking and creativity, we purposefully maintain a low 5:1 student-teacher ratio.  We want to make sure that every student has the specialized attention and resources necessary to make their invention come to life.

What is the typical day?

During the course of the 3-week program, students will participate in a mix of lecture and hands-on work.  The lecture portion is designed to give the students an introduction to the underlying scientific principles that are the foundation for their hands-on projects. The hands-on portion gives them the opportunity to "learn science by doing science."
